In the heart of the Whispering Woods, where ancient trees stood like silent guardians, the Lantern's Glow Tavern beckoned weary travelers with its warm, inviting light. Elara heard tales of this mystical place from her grandmother. The stories were full of magic and adventure. They danced in her imagination. As she stepped through the heavy wooden door, the rich scent of roasted meats and spiced cider wrapped around her like a comforting blanket. She did not know that tonight would be unlike any other. Whispers of a hidden treasure buried deep in the forest reached even this enchanted haven.

The complication

  • A rival treasure seeker overhears the whisper about the hidden treasure and tries to trick Elara into leading them to the spot.
  • The map that Elara finds inside the tavern is incomplete, forcing her to solve riddles written in fading ink before the moon sets.
  • The Lantern's Glow itself begins to dim with a strange sickness that causes the forest to shift, making familiar paths disappear and trapping travellers.
