The complication
- The pegasus loses strength and begins to sink toward a lower, dangerous layer of clouds before Elara can reach the kingdom, forcing her to find a way to help the creature and still save the floating realm.
- A guardian of the kingdom mistakes Elara for an intruder and seals parts of the city with spells, so Elara must prove she means no harm while racing to stop the fading.
- The source of the kingdom’s light is a cracked crystal hidden below the tallest tower, and removing or repairing it requires Elara to navigate collapsing bridges and jealous sky-spirits who do not want the kingdom restored.
