The complication
- The cat runs off with Jane's school bag and the tiny note blows away, making it hard for Jane to find the message.
- Someone else appears and claims the cat belongs to them, creating a challenge for Jane to prove the cat is meant to be her companion.
- The note contains a riddle that leads Jane to a strange place at night, and she must decide whether to follow the clues alone or ask for help.
